I hope that's just considered a new map, and not a new game type, tbh. I was hoping for something altogether a bit more exciting as a new game type.

Well there's three types of CP map, so this'll be another PL map type. That's what I was trying to say but failin.  :?

Yea, I wasn't criticising your wording Talkie, more pondering where this map fits into Valve's plans and hoping that from their perspective, it's not a new game type :)

There's also a bit of speculation on the forums that one cart goes one way, the other the opposite. Though to be honest, it's so hard to tell from that pic!

I bet you it is the new game type.

There more it's discussed, the more I'm inclined to think it *won't* be the new game type. The three different style of CP maps all still being CP maps is the best argument for this. Additionally, a quote from Robin Walker should clarify things even more:

Quote from: "Robin Walker"
A new Payload map is in the works, more community maps are on the way and the team will soon unveil a very different new game mode.

About the payload map in the background; I hope they go in different directions.
If they go in the same direction, I can imagine it will be very sensitive to team balancing. I'm probably going to make a dual payload map where they go in opposite directions once I'm finished with pl_repository and cp_glacier :)

Wow, yeh.  Going in different directions would create huge variation in game-play, depending on where the carts where together and how close the tracks ran.

If they go in different directions it'll probably be more fun since you can decide whether you want to push your cart or prevent the red team from pushing theirs.

sounds like great fun, but 2 payloads going the same way could've like 2 split paths that meet on several points so that it creates a race & survive type of map  :)
"Come forth", said God unto Adam, "and recieve eternal life!" But Adam came fifth and won a toaster.

Just incase you didn't know. The Scattergun replacement will be the Force a Nature.
So the scout is the fastest, he can double jump, and now he can shotgun jump. What next? A translocator? Oh wait... Bonk!

If you know any UTers still weary of trying out TF2, just tell em to play Scout. It's practically the same thing.
