yeah, i've been wanting to have a spray for a long time, and i figured, why not make it a post, so that you guys can explain and i can read back

You got Photoshop? If not, get the GIMP.

Make a new image (256x256 pixels), with a transparent background. <-- important

Use the image tools to make a pretty spray on it.

Save it as a .png so you get your transparency.

Download a program called VTFEdit. Choose File -> Import. Select your png.

On the options that appear, most is probably alright already, but you should change maximum width and maximum height to 256x256. Texture type volume texture.

Click OK, then File -> Save As. Save it in Steam/steamapps/<your_steam_ID>/team fortress 2/tf/materials/VGUI/logos/

This is how I made mine. I just took a lame advert from the internet, added some grunge to it and tattered the edges.

Also skully, i suggest getting some from www.fpsbanana.com They have some wicked sprays (but obviously not personalised) and you just download them, and install them as the readme states, and away ya go. Quick easy and simple.

I don't think you have to do that now do you? If you go in to settings under multiplayer tab there is an option to import a bmp, jpg, png file as a spray. Although.. perhaps there's more to it.

Yes Talkie, you can import .bmp or .jpg but if you want transparency, that's the best way of doing it.

I'd have thought the best way of doing was simply clicking your fingers, having some naked and oiled, Swedish blonde beauty appear (twin sister optional), and for her to operate your GIMP for you whilst you sip of a fresh beer. And then as a finalé for her to drop the finished work in the correct place ready for you to .. well spray.. I guess?  :roll:
