K-lite mega codec pack
http://www.codecguide.com/download_k-li ... k_mega.htm

Basically if you want to play a video file but don't have the codec this is the answer - regular updates, comes with media player classic which is a lightweight player.  Also mostly allows you to play real player and quicktime without actually having to install real player or quicktime.

I don't really use any codec packs. Personally, VLC is my player of choice. Will play anything I've ever thrown at it.

If I need to play Quicktime or Real content then there's
Quicktime Alternative
Real Alternative

Which I guess are the codecs in your codec pack :)
