I have it. Though I'm not very creative, so maybe it wasn't the best purchase. I played with the bouncing ball for a while, once.

Don't have the full version, but I played with it in the past.

It's not really my thing, since I'm not very creative either. But it was fun with some friends in a server, messing around, and with various challenges, like see who can make the best flying machine to transport melons somewhere.

Or setting up elaborate Rube Goldberg machines.

I LOVE Gmod ^_^

Although, the downside is you have to download a couple of hefty mods to do anything really worthwhile (wiremod and phxmod).

I've already had to completely reinstall the game a couple of times after literally raping my gmod folder with various mods.. but still great fun. ^^

About the creativity thing, a bit is needed aye but one of the great things about is that there are so many modded game modes you can play on gmod aside from just the classic sandbox 'build' version.

The other best gamemode (imo,) is RP - RolePlay.

Nerdy as it sounds it can be great fun if you've got a couple of mates to play with and can find a server with a half decent admin and few if any screaming 12 year olds.

Last time I played that with a friend, I'd built up another insanely awesome fort of mine, then gone police with my friend and we hid money printers inside the police station, whilst constantly shooting off/attempting to arrest the 'mob' that were trying to steal them from us ^_^

Yeah, add meh on steam if you wanna play some srslah awesome gmod :D  -> The_Anomoly

Or THE_An0mOLy! might work, *eh*

Happy Hunting! ^^

i liked playing it where you make forts and then have to destory one another by using flinging objects at each others base! Was always amusing :D

I tried to play a custom mode some time ago and I thought I was playing in Xbox Live...it seems only building servers have mature people playing. Still, if you guys are playing and I am online, invite me ;D

used to play alot gmod in the past

a few mates and i got our own server running with spacebuild (simulates O2, temperature etc. - you cant live in outer space without a spacecraft or a suit) and anything...
after just a few hours we had pretty decent working (and awesome looking) contraptions.

few examples:

full lifesupport space shutte with teleporting-ability (hyperdrive <3)

spacemines -
basically a flying ball with a fusion charge (homemade) in it with quite a lot wired stuff. what it did: standing cloaked on a static position in space, waiting for any player to pass. sensors find the enemies ship, a dozen spikes propell off the surface of the mine within any direction.
contact with the ship enables a grabber which connects mine + ship (strange part of gmod physics - you have to link a structure to the explosive to tear it apart completely). BOOM!
just sit back and enjoy the fireworks.

and an idea we got working that i had from a book: transform cannons
small thermonuclear warhead gets teleported to the point the cannon is pointed at, e.g. a ships wall. BUT with some programming the bomb teleports to a point 1 gamemetre BEHIND the point the cannon is pointed at.

god it was fun scaring mingebags with that....

also: flying sofa ftw!
