Nice idea.

Btw, moved this to the TF2 sub-forum.

Personally i'm a fan of crits but a vote is a good idea, let's everyone have a choice and noone can complain if they don't get their choice, democracy rules all!

medic with Kritzkrieg failing hard cos they have no idea what to do with it :)

this is true but kritzkrieg is surely effective weapon when used corectly. its suposed to eb used before you enter combat so the guy you chrage still has all ammo and can go rampaging teh enemy team, manny still use it as the ubercharge, when they are already outnumbered and under fire, and then they die :<

It should be used with Soldiers, since crit rockets are pretty devastating if the Soldier is any good. The Soldier is also the perfect class to go around the corner and blast the shit out of everybody and everything, not a Heavy or a Demo. People should also Uber Pyros more often, people run in fear of a Uber Pyro that destroys the sentries and burns people at the same time. Medics think that Ubering a Heavy is best option for offense but its actually one of the worst (Heavy is defense).

About the vote Crit On/Off, crits are a good part of public TF2 gaming, they may be unfair in clan matches but they're fun in public servers, I wouldn't get half the bat kills if I there were no crits! Heavy also benefits from this and Soldiers with random crit rockets. I have never seen a server do this so I say no.

I prefer demoman with kritz. If he is good it means you have 8 undodgeable fast-moving "rockets" and 4 grenades (which if he is very good he will get some direct hits with those too), and he moves faster.

Critz on a heavy works just fine.  Particularly good as a defensive counter to an uber rush if the heavy can stay hidden - once the uber is running out and all the enemy team have charged in a critzed heavy jumping into view should kill absolutely everything.

I think what Zulyar is proposing is not to disable crits entirely but to disable random crits; he's obviously welcome to correct me. This in fact greatly boosts the effectiveness of the kritzkrieg.

That's just wrong d2s. While a large number of ne were away this past week at i37 quite a few of us were playing on the |HH| servers (which Zulyar mentioned in his original post). On map start they have a yes/no for random crits vote. Now I realize my 10 hours play on these servers over a week or so is probably not the best sampling of vote results but I'd say more often than not that vote resulted in crits being turned off.

Personally I don't really care for crits and I think it would be a nice feature to have the vote. If having this capability isn't difficult why should we prevent the pubber player base from democratically voting random crits off? It's not as if we're attempting to enforce a ruleset on anybody.

Edit: Emphasis.

I just said I had never seen a server with that vote and it's true. It won't bother me much if voting for criticals is implemented in the server but I still prefer it wasn't. It's not enforcing rules on people if there's no voting for criticals, only frustrated assholes don't like crits because they stand in front of crit rockets too much.

Understood. My point was that saying "no" and blanket rejecting a potential server feature because you have never seen it before just seems wrong.

Look, my interest here is having a cogent and adult conversation about a feature some people like. There's no need to start calling those of us who have one opinion of crits frustrated assholes.

Edit: Brevity.

I prefer having crits on in the comm server. It adds a random feature to the game which i feel adds to the fun.If the community leaders decide to implement it then the vote would tell us whether it is popular or not.I stand by whatever decision they make

i personally dont think we should have the crit vote. Servers like HH are boring when crits get disabled. Just my 65 pence :)
