Update

Major changes in v2.5 include:

-Improved netcode for a much more enjoyable multiplayer experience.
-Improved and more streamlined melee combat
-New melee move: 'Ground slam'
-New map: 'Lost Temple'
-New special attacks for the monsters, such as the bruiser's rampage-run
-Camera improvements for widescreens
-New difficulty system and configureable timelimits
-Improved balance for the battle and demonizer mode
-New mode: Hunt. End the round by reaching a score limit
-Demon gameplay is overall more enjoyable
-Several balancing changes to weapons
-Several AI improvements. Hellion bats spawn less often and monsters can reach rooftops
-New animations for several actions such as ladder climbing
-Overall more streamlined, polished and fun!

Had a quick play offline, and its seems well worth trying. They have sorted it so it has a very cool installer program that installs the files and over writes the old version effortlessly (if old version was installed) into you retail or steam version directory of UT3 and creates a desktop and/or menu item. So 'if' you have UT3 installed already theres no excuse for not trying it
