Last time I was in Australia they considered 512kbs ultra-fast (uk was getting >4Mb speeds by that time I think) and 6GB a month would get your connection capped down or your bill.

You can now get 10meg connections here in Aus although thats only in the major cities. All of which have a peak time throttle to 2mbps during peak times of 12am to 12pm and all have download limits... :( The connection i am on now dl's @56kbps... even through its a 2 meg connection and has a cap of 10gig a month and if you go over it they wallop you with a fine. Joy be unbound. May be a while before i am able to play properly with you guys again especially seeing as how im in the middle of a gold mining town in buttfuck no where!

Feel free to google maps Kalgoorlie, WA :>

:( I see it hasn't improved much then. I use to tell Aussies about our high-speed limit-free services and they all thought I was yanking their chain. Seriously though we get fair Internet deals over here when compared to other countries.

A map showing the average maximum download limited would be interesting to see next to that. Like Panda said his isp in Aus caps at 10gig and if you go over you get fined. I'd rather have 2Mb with unlimited/fair-use bandwidth than 8Mb and get capped after a few dozen GB.

Lol i have just found out what the limits of the internet i am using from this house is.

Peak Time 9am-1am - Max usage 5000MB total (DL and UL)
Off Peak 1am - 9am - Max usage 5000MB total (DL and UL)

Internet speed during peak hours 500kb connection...
Internet speed during peak hours 2meg connection

wtf is up with this 3rd world internet shit? I have had upload speeds of 0.9kbps and download speed of 6.2kbps for a whole day. WTF?!
