Oldskool?
« on: November 14, 2009, 12:50:01 PM »
What about running a few weeks of Warfare with only large maps, Onslaught type maps

Tell me can the ONS2.0 have shit turned on and off, is it tweakable?  I only like certain parts of it

I was playing on the FA2K server and they have dodge jump enabled but I think they have turned up the speed or lowered gravity or something because its the closest I have seen to UT2004 movement ever

ut04 as a whole is over rated.

There. I said it.

No idea if it's tweekable. MPUK BTA server has Dodge Jump and some people claimed the gravity and speed seemed different over all. Seemed the same to me personally though.

Brb... getting my old tank back from the scrapeyard so i can EE azure  >:D

I havent actually had a mess around with dodge jumping in UT3, i did that deliberately as there needed to be a distinction in my mind that each game is different and as such should try to lessen how much i compared them... which didnt really work well tbh.....

But sounds interesting non the less

:p That's not to say UT04 wasn't really good. But I've heard sooo many people bitching about how ut3 sucks and ut04 was the best thing ever made ever. EVER. I've played it and some times I wonder if I was playing the same bloody game as they did.

UT3 is just more in your face, with the faster speed and stronger weapons you have to attack to survive, UT2004 was a shoot and duck kinda game imo

If we had large maps only the server would be empty - there was only five of us playing warfare last Thursday and with L4D2 out on Tuesday not sure 'if' its worth having any custom nights this week

Yes I'm pretty sure the doudge jump and gravity can be tweaked with the mutator - cant see why ONS2 cant be tweaked as well!

I say we put on large maps, tweak ONS2.0 (get rid of all the crap changes if possible), tweak dodge jump and gravity and speed and market the whole night as a return to UT2004 (ish) Onslaught with all the great new stuff of Warfare thrown in

IF we can tweak everything, also we could make a mappack of say 8 large great maps, especially for the night

If we tweak ONS2.0 r we not just reinventing the wheel

imo ONS was great in ut2k4 but we all stopped playing that years ago and moved on since.

but when I get time will see 'if' a tweak can be done
