Look at movies like Ghostwriter and see what they do, the ask their makes how they do it XD
I think After Effects is supposed to be better for stuff like that, could be wrong though.

I tried downloading adobe after effects last night but it wouldn't install for some reason, so screw that.  Cant be bothered stealing another piece of software anyway, the tinterweb police will get after me!

Vegas costs hundreds and hundreds of pounds you know, I feel a bit guilty about that as it is!  But then again it's sony, so fuck 'em.
 O0

Also, POV demo's please guys!  Stick 'em here or on the other movie thread, Monkeh's season 7 highlights or something, it's called, I thank you.

I been looking at some tutorial videos on youtube and I reckon I can improve it quite a lot.

One thing that has come to me in a moment of inspiration, (but will probably never happen knowing full well how hard it is to get people to upload their demo's!!!), is that if you upload a POV demo with some cool shizz in it, try to convince one of your teammates to upload their POV too, then I can smooth theirs and have you in the clip.

Smoothing your pov removes you from the action, but if I had another pov then I could use yours for the pov bit then smooth your teamates for awsome clips with you in them.  This would be loads better I reckon.

Anyway, STV demo's are poo for this as they have no kill notices and you can't smooth them either.  Moving the camera by 'hand' is too random and it moves to fast for it to look good.  POV's only please.

Also I believe Humbug has upped the limit for file size that can be posted....or something, but what it means is that you can all now upload your demo's to the thread page!  This is really helpfull and makes it very easy.  Just go to Additional Options and stick your demos on here.  Even your grandad could do it I reckon, so there's no excuses anymore.

just a tip (kinda) try a much simpler font like arial or helvetica, really the rest of the editing should do the talking, i'd keep the text more subtle :)

tbh it looks like your on the right track. the recording settings themselves look sweet.
stop making little ones and make your big masterpiece ;)

So I managed to get some clips recorded before the update broke everything, and this is the kind of thing I'm going for.  What I'd appreciate is some feedback as to how it looks and stuff.

A few points first:  I've only got blu team demos so far, so the names are in blue, other teams are obviously free to post their demos in the 'clips' thread and your names will be in the appropriate colour, (yes even rainbow!), on the vid.  What I want to do is get some varied footage, people taunting to cut to after a spree, Obscure/Gully/Coldfront maps in play and some other random and off class shenanigans.

I've nudged the colours a bit, some feedback there would be good.  I'll automatically assume 2 'NO!' votes from Willow and Enef on that score, but I think it looks rather nice.

The little flash of effects on the first airshot, yay or nay?  Should it be on all of them or do you prefer the standard, non sparkly ones after?

I'm thinking of calling it, 'Not just .:ne:. movie'     Crap or not?  I need some help.

Anyway, download it and have a look, I haven't uploaded to youtube, I'll wait for the finished thing before any more goes on there.

Thanks

Edit: Check how the quality goes down on youtube:
Badlands Mid airs 30FPS

This is the best i've seen from you so far, the colours are fine (not personally to my preference but definetely better than most movies out there) and the quality of the clips is awesome.

As for the effects as the rocket hits, ehhh, it kinda covers up the actual kill so it might be worth using sparingly!

I'd say stick it online somewhere and ask some movie makers on ETF2L to take a look at it (Chris would be a good one.)

Looks good. The video stutters a lot though, after the first air shot, is it just me?

No, I've gone for some slo motion but it doesn't seem to work very well.  Not sure how to get good looking slo mo yet.  I recorded it at 120 FPS and slowed that bit down by less than half,  so it should still be smooth.  I don't know.  Needs working out tho, I like a bit of well used slo mo in movies but not so much when it's all laggy like that.

Needz some moar training.....

Nice work Monkeh. The quality is really good, and the colours are awesome i think - probably the best ive seen.

Only thing I'd say is after the first 2 clips, they should have been cut a bit shorter. For example on the first clip, it has the airshot, then you see him reloading in slow motion for a while and i was ecpecting something else to happen but it just cut.. Would have thought it got cut sooner?

But yeah, really nice. I'm going to have to swift through some demo's. I did have a load in a .rar file but they been ruined now by update.
