Win7 Raid0

was installing Win7X64 on a raid0 (for sons system)

and it prompted me for the raid driver (strange I thought ) but not at the Dos preload point - it was better all the same

But it turns out the mobo was 'FCUKed' as Win7 failled to load any further then expanding files

Just got a new mobo and just got Win7X64 installed and didn't get asked for the raid drivers - just posting about it as I had it in the NE irc channel

quite pleased with the new mobo - managed to install win7 on raid0 and sort out the old WinXP install out which is on a different HD sort out all the drivers for the newer chipset without a freash XP install and change over from ICE mode to AHCI mode too. So I can see the raid0 Drive in XP too

So I can now get all the games files for steam (100GB+ THQ pack and Batman AA) transfered over to the raid0 drive in XP ready for Xmas so when he boots it on Xmas day (along with his new case and 24inch monitor, Blue tooth logitech keyboard and mouse and a few other bits) a quick install of steam move the game files over and he will be ready to go.

i'm wanting to raid0 my box on win7.  need to see if its possible to do it without a reinstall.  just need to move some data off a partition and i've got a 2nd 500gig drive free. 900odd gig for OS/games

install raid0 with raid enabled in bios - change to AHCI in bios boot to your win7 install then copy/clone win7 install drive to the raid0 drive- then just change back to raid in bios and done 'should work'

on sons pc have to change from AHCI to raid in bios reboot back into bios then select which drive to boot from each time I change from raid to AHCI for the different installs
