Some simple tips for the newcomers to EA Battlefield Bad Company 2 to help you 'level up' and get better weapons etc
These are from my own experience having never played any of the games before. ( except battlefield heros) So this stuff I have found out by playing the game and making lots of mistakes and dieing a lot ( so nothing new) but having fun and lot of laughs
Kill the other team as much as possible ofc! but with folks having better weapons etc than yourself it can be a quick death for your self .
Get in a squad - Your squad is green on the mini map and so r their ions above their heads your other team m8s r blue and the other team is red
Squads r made up of upto four players
once in a squad 'if' you die you can respawn to where they r on the map ( straight into the tank if one of your squad is in it) the more you work as a team the faster you will get points which means better weapons etc
I use to join any squad and stick with them. I don't any more. I see what classes their playing before I start the playing ( was playing the other night and three guys in a clan was all playing the same class at any one time! so didn't stay with them) I change sides and if nothing is suitable even go to another server. I'm not a good player by any standards but by picking a good sqaud I have gone from near the bottom of the score table to near the top score wise ( not that score is important ofc but dieing less and helping your squad do more is rewarding) When squad members work together you normally win as a team
each class - medic, engineer etc has something unique to offer the squad assault can drop ammo boxes which the whole team can use to resupply the team mates - and you get points when they do if you dropped the box, 20 if a sqaud m8 uses it and 10 if a non squad m8 uses it. Same goes for Medic and Medi kit and the engineer if he restores the vehicle thats been damaged. Not sure what the snipper (Recon) brings to the squad as I have played that class least.
So double the points for working as a squad
the medic has a De-fib use it as much as possible you get bags of points for it
So get in a balanced sqaud and work together.
Oh to use the ammo/medi kits once on the ground you just need to be near them!
So get dropping and work together.
going on an empty server and doing to whole rush attack map gets you about 1000points so an easy way to shake of the lower levels and get the feel of the map and how to take out the attack points. Plus you can have a play in the helicopter - I'm really bad at flying it ( Please don't use the Helicopter in a match unless you can fly it - its a great weapon if use correctly)
hitting jump when mid air will release your parachute- Useful to get off the buildings quickly without taking fall damage!
also if you kill some one, don't stay in that area alone. There is a good change they "spotted" you for the rest of their team so you'll have 2+ people coming to butcher you :s
You can blow up land mines with ordinary guns too.
Recon update -
Been playing this class a bit and what a bag of fun without touching the sniper - bags of pionts to be had without even firing a shot. You get about Three sensors but to get more when you have used them running over ammo kit you get more. The sensor 'if' used correctly will turn the a rush game.
In the last game I got 9 motion mine assists pins you have to get 5 to get the pin so thats 45 kills by others from the info from the sensor and its worth 20-30points depending weather its a team m8 or not. When your taking an M-Con down stick a sensor on top off the M-Com and you have 360 radar on all incoming. My weapon of chioce for the recon is the SAIGA with the SG upgrade (more ammo in gun) or the MGNM AM (Bigger shot - kills faster) and you have the C4 and Mortar attack too. So a squad without a recon is blind IMO just get rid of the sniper rifle after all its the default weapon! who uses the default weapon in any other class? enough said (ofc the r occasions when using the sniper is useful) When using the SAIGA theres no sights so you use the LW Pack ( Faster movement) you spot them with the sensor flank them and take them down with the dagger - nice and easy because your squad have seen them too theres coving fire too

great fun. The recon has gone from my least fav class to fav class. But as always it also depends on the squad and the map
