A challenge?

I'm going to make a movie soon and I wanted to have an intro where we have the team in spawn taunting and I'll whizz the camera around their lovely heads whilst they do it.  What I was wondering was if it is possible/feasible to copy any levels spawn, badlands, granary, whatever, but mess around with the lighting.

What I would love, is to have them taunting in a flickering light that after a little bit of time suddenly bursts into a fully lighted room.

So we have cool music over the top of each class taunting, with each team member's favourite hat natch, in a flickering light, which would look cool.  Then the light bursts into full brilliance as we do a normal roll out, probably all in slo motion.

So is it possible to make a copy of a spawn with different lighting?  is it easy to do? Can anyone be bothered to do it? Can dogs look up? Does God exist?

I'd be very gratefull as although I bet it's possible to do in sony vegas I aint got a clue as how to do it, so we could all gather in the new spawn and taunt away, then I could get the STV and it would look great I think.

Holy crap is it possible to survive with a minus 5 IQ!?   

Thinking about it Humbug, that wouldn't look half as good as some proper flickering lighting with shadows and all!  Cheers though, that may well come in useful anyways....

I was thinking of some kind of map making copy and paste, which is probably a ridiculous idea...but what do I know?  Not much obviously, but if it's loads of trouble then dont worry, I'll work round it.

Copy paste, then change lighting, easy surely....ahem.

if it was me i would just add some randomly timed key frames where the brightness gets turned down to like 5% for split seconds..add a buzzing sound effect over it, and i think it would work (but not be half as cool as customised lighting).

i can do it all... more than that, transformation of objects is my favorite... so we can make anything...

thats easily doable in gmod as well, just give me a shout if you want something like that. it just needs the tf2 models installed.

I was thinking of using vegas to trim and crop 3 sets of taunting models with a black border all on top of each other, but I'm not sure if that would work. 

Anyway, transforming club dance scene, with coloured flashing dance floor, with our TF2 favourites getting down, transforming into granary spawn room sounds just amazingly good and perfect and everything.   However I was hoping to get the footage myself with an STV recording so I can get it all synced to my music and all.  I know nothing about this at all so maybe a granary spwan room with customised lighting is the best way to go, I dont know.

You can join the server, become a spec and film all you want xD
i suggest these layered footages only in 1 scene of "dance" itself...
If some1 has GMod, we could make some custom poses for ppl, lets say, at a bar..?
Also the music and sounds should be made in post-processing.

thats what i was talking about 
i do have garrys mod and have quite alot of knowledge about posing (helped out at a few comic pages), so that shouldnt be a problem.
there once was a map with a bar, but cant exactly remember it's name

guess you remember the one i mean duke, we once camped in my bar, far away from the middle
(5cp map, something with space race, huge orange plane turbine in the middle)
