Question Time...
« on: May 27, 2010, 09:16:08 AM »
ok I have a few questions that have been annoying me a little, maybe somebody can help, feel free to ask your own too although I think its really just me who is the noob here

Can you lock on with the RPG?

Whats the best way to down choppers with normal weapons?

Everyone seems to have a knife, do I have to work up points for the knife?

I placed a sensor on my tank & drove it around, it seemed to work fine but then some dude C4'd the tank and he didn't show on the sensor??

Do ammo boxes replenish nades and mortor strikes?

I am getting to grips with this game, racking up lots of kills, had a 10 kill streak last night, probably doesn't sound like much but its a lot for me.  I am getting over the see enemy - spastic shooting in their general direction phase, am lining up my shots more etc...  so yeah the game is starting to be fun, which is nice :)

No, the RPG doesn't have a lock on, hence it being the first weapon of this class to be unlocked.

If you want to take down a chopper with normal weapon, just get something with decent aim/ range and try and kill the pilot, insta-crash guaranteed.

About the knife... That's kind of obvious, now isn't it? :)

C4 won't trigger an alarm like RPG's do, if you mean the dude didn't show up on the sensor, I think that's just bad luck or outskilled :p That's why i don't like being the driver of the tank :D

AMmo boxes replenish ammo and nades, mortar strikes require a cooldown, ammo doesn't help.

Hope this helped a bit :)

Yes the RPG (And the carl gustav) can lock onto vehicles. But you'd have to place a dart on the target first. Hold your aim on the tank, wait a few secs, see the distance indicator and fire your RPG.
Only the AT-4 can't lock onto vehicles, as it has a built in guided-rocket system

IF you have to take down a chopper with mounted guns, try and use the stationary MG, it does a fair job at it.

Everyone has a knife, just find whatever button it is, get close to an enemy and slice him a new blowhole

Thanks for the help guys :)  Hugs all around

So I can shoot the pilot through the glass then?

Not really, I looked and couldn't find an option to assign a button in my settings, maybe I am looking in the wrong place

Outskilled how though?  Is there a way for enemy's to not show up on the sensor, I placed the sensor on top of the tank so as I moved about it also moved, I heard the guy place the C4 on the tank, I even got out and killed him but the sensor didn't pick him up at all?

How do I place this Dart & what is it exactly?  Do I place it by just holding the crosshair on the vehicle?

Thanks again

Thought it was the carl gustav can't lock on - that's guided completely by the targeting sight.  The RPG7 is completely guided by tracer if one is placed on the target, and the AT-4 is a bit of both?

Zofo - to place tracers you need the tracer dart pistol, unfortunately you need to be quite a high level to unlock it (which is a bit dumb as the RPG7 is pants without it).

Oh, if you'd chucked a recon sensor ball only your tank, remember those sensors only last 20 seconds - hence it probably had stopped working when you got C4'd.  Use the sensor vehicle perk (first one you get) if you think being C4'd is likely as that doesn't run out.

Both the RPG and Carl Gustav is compatible with the tracer dart. AT-4 will NOT work with traced targets since it's a built-in system: Keep aiming your mouse and guide your rocket to the target.

Of course you can fire both the RPG and Carl Gustav without any tracers placed.

Regarding the C4. To my knowlede these do NOT show up on Recon's motion sensors. Only as DeathByDribbling said "Use the sensor vehicle perk" This will show C4 and mines aswell

Dart gun... USELESS?! It scores you loads of points, if you're on a vehicle heavy map. It also benefits your entire team, as everyone can lock on to whatever you paint

It wasn't the C4 not showing that was bothering me, it was the guy planting it, the sensor hadn't run out either because I could still see the blue expanding bubble thing on the map, anyways nvm, I could have missed something as i was really quite stoned at the time  O0

Any more tips would be appreciated

sure that you not just drove into a C4 trap, got out, killed some random guy who tried to bomb you and someone else pushed the button?

Nope, I heard the sneaky little fucker creep through the bushes and I heard the plink plink plink of the C4 being attached to the back of my motor, I got out then and he then blew it up afaik

Ah quite right, here's a nice youtube vid of tracer dart work:

indeed.

Note this is beta footage, the repair tool isn't THAT great for destroying vehicles anymore.
But the rest I'd say is pretty much still there.
