General Lan Tips and Advice
« on: May 28, 2010, 11:48:05 AM »
If you have any advice/tips for LAN post them here.

If you have any questions about LAN, post them here.

My experience: Bring at least £100 spending money (beer/food/new mouse/keyboard etc)
Expect to not get much sleep, its more fun that way
Expect to play a fucking LOT of tf2, a LOT.
Expect to not play much of anything else.

1. Remove any and all shared folders, printers, drivers and any other way for a computer+virus to be able to transmit its self to your comp. There have been cases where Virus' have infected up to 80% of computers in the previous ievents i used to go to :) all had to be wiped and rebuilt...

2. Bring extension cords. Useful for when you need to charge phone and stuff. Ill bring a kettle to make brews... (is that still allowed?)

3. Update your virus checker and maleware programs

4. Back up all data you need or don't want to loose and leave it at home. (just in case situation)

5. Cans of deodorant if your lazy and cba showering, I don't want to smell your B.O.!!! believe me there will be a lot of people there who dont and the smell of feet and armpits really hits you like a wall from late sat/sun! I cheat and head home for a shower and some nice brekkie ;)

6. Your most comfy boxers and cloths you have!
