my mics not working :(

my mic has stopped being reckognised by the pc, but i know that it works, cuz i tried it in a different pc
i've done all the control panel stuff i could think of, anyone got any ideas? its not a usb one just a green pink cable.

A similar problem happened to my headset a while back. It turned out it was just the pink sockets holding up. If you have the same green and pink sockets somewhere else on your case, try plugging them in there to see if that helps.

Obviously this isn't the best solution since it would probably be awkward to use your headset like this, but at least if you try this you'll have a better idea of where the problem lies. xxx

If you can get a hold of anothe rmic to try and see if it's the port on our sound card/mobo that's playing up, try that.  Also, I know sometimes the software that comes with some sound cards likes to register each device that gets plugged in, and on occasion they can get stuck.  Reinstalling your sound drivers/software 'may' help.

as soon as i got home it worked... :S
the only difference is that all my devices like webcam printer etc were plugged in. no idea if or why that could make a difference but apprently it did.
