Right well I'm in a real need of a desktop, especially now that my laptop needs to be placed on ice packs to cool it down, and of course I don't want to be one of the 'cool' guys that turn up to LAN with only a laptop.
So far I have almost settled on a build which I'm more than happy to build myself but if anyone has seen something similar in a pre-built, could they please direct me as I'm sure it can be done for less than £800.
And also if anyone has any suggestions on how it could be edited please add
So far it includes;
Intel core i5-750
Gigabyte GA-P55M-UD2
4 GB of Corsair xms3 ram
Asus 5850 graphics
Asus xonar DX sound card
Antec true power 650 psu
Gelid tranquillo fan
and 1 TB of hard disk
Thanks in advance for help
What you going to be using the computer for?
i5-760 is about to be released, so i5-750 price will drop.
make sure you don't just buy any 1TB HDD
Personally I would NOT buy that motherboard, NO USB 3, NO SATA 3
If you do decide to build a i5/P55 based system, and it does support 3rd party usb3/sata3 chips, check how they are connected, as the i5 only supports 16 pcie 2 lanes, all other pcie slots are only revision 1!!
there are P55 based boards that support more than 16X pcie revision 2 (but these are provided by a 3rd party chip/system)
n/b i7 9** series and all AMD 8 series chipsets based systems do not have the same limitations
