Earthquake!
« on: June 23, 2010, 23:40:29 PM »
Here I was going home after sneaking out of work early.
I had to pick up a parcel which I did successfully in a rediculously short period of time considering it was Purilator.
I'm my way home and I'm going to make it in time to get home and then run to the pub to catch the second set of World Cup matches today.
I'm the first car stopped at traffic lights, all of a sudden my car starts shaking!
I drive a diesel and the first thing that came to mind was that my timing belt was going, so I shut off my engine.
My car kept on shaking!
Then I saw people running out of buildings and an old lady hugging a sign post, then it sunk in, it wasn't my car.
I got my car going and when it turned green floored it as the intersection where I was at the Subway(Underground-Metro-Tube-Whatever) was directly under me.
They said it was a 5.0 earthquake, but the first thing that came to mind was the G20 summit and a bomb.
I think it was a little more than a 5.0, a political news release when it hit...

Yeah, read about thsi last night. Was there any considerable damage or anything? Canada doesn't seem like the kind of country to suffer from earthquakes really.

And nobody was killed or seriously hurt!
It must have been a wild ride in the trailer park.

I talked to a few people that were in the tornado zone, they said that most of them were at home watching the news(6pm) about the earthquake which shook em up pretty good, then the tornado hit!
Talk about a double whammy!
