Would very much like to play this - been looking at it for a while. Like Minecraft though, multiplayer seems a bit more interesting - does anyone here play multiplayer survival? Enough for a small group of us to get together and play?

I haven't even tried the multiplayer out yet, which is daft really, but I got a little lost in the quick updates and haven't played for a while. I had a quick look at some of the new stuff not that long ago and it seems to have come on in leaps and bounds in terms of functionality and stuff to do, so I'd be happy to fire it up and have a look at some multiplayer action.

It's very like Minecraft, (this from someone who has never played Minecraft), but centered around being in space, (well duh!), and making ships, both small and large, for mining, ramming, shooting, breaking to bits etc as well as stations.

Here's a little taster of stuff what you can do, (and this was a lot of updates ago, there is many and more stuff available now), if you are a noob like me.

I found an asteroid which was hollow.

So I started building an asteroid base.

A second level with it's own entrance and stairs to the first.

Then I added a few guns to the outside.

This is as far as i got.

Was good fun and with other players to build and fight with i can imagine a lot more fun to be had. Their forums were quite good last time I had a look and some of the stuff you can do now is amazing.

If you buy it, they will come!

Currently, this has a free weekend and I gave it a try... a bit less intuitive than MC, but gosh, I could spend as much time in this... But at the moment, I sadly don't have much time on my hands, but I'll definitely get it in the Christmas Sale this year.

Anybody got experience with SMP in this?

I've also wanted to get this as I've saw people play it on YouTube. The multiplayer seems good and there doesn't seem to be any problems.

I haven't played it in a while but it's an impressive game, no doubt. Would be epic in a friendly multiplayer environment, especially if you have a liking of minecraft.

I could imagine you could do some awesome space fights once a week or month - get 5 players or more per team and build stuff, then rip each other apart and start again. feels a bit like a mix of eve, minecraft and starwars battlefront, but could use more players.
