heh, adsl24 are good, but they use the entanet network, which...errr...isn't anymore
...

I'm on entanet.  What's up with it?  Often drops.  Anyone know why?

could either be line issue, BT exchange issue, entanet radius issue...need i go on!  does it just lose connectivity or does sync drop too?  maybe your router logs can help if your not sure.

Ok, my three options I've whittled down to:

DG834G - unspecified version. Apparently v4 has the broadcom chipset, v5 does not. - £50

DG834GT - has broadcom chipset - £60

Linksys WAG160N - has broadcom chipset - £60, but with £15 cashback = £45

Seems like a no brainder to me to go for the linksys, but wanted to make sure I wasn't making a stupid mistake

i've got the DG834v4 (non-wifi) at home. been good so far tho i've got it in bridge mode to by server so don't know how good its NAT handeling is.

I have a DG834G. It has been good for many years, but recently it has needed restarting a lot. It gets very hot and then Internet becomes too unreliable.

Those white netgears all seem to have problems overheating, drill some holes in it!

Maybe mine is over heating and that's what's causing the packet loss?

I should update on how things have been since the move to ADSL24.

In a word, fantastic!

Latency has returned to normal, which is about 25ms in the day, 40ms in the evening.
Throughput is also amazing - maxing the connection at ~650KBps peak and off peak.

I was cut off inadvertently due to a billing error, but was sorted over the phone in 10 minutes.

Very, very happy with ADSL24 at the moment.
