EVE Online
« on: January 03, 2011, 09:35:36 AM »
Anybody play this? I reactivated my old account today for 5 free days and I'm tempted by an offer of 60 days for about 20 Euros. It would be awesome if enough people started playing it that we could get a corp. Incursion is coming out this month for it (Yet another free update) so i guess its a good time to start playing.  ;)

the game makes my spidey-senses tingle.  I'm avoiding it like the plague, lest I get sucked in and never return.  I already procrastinate too much as it is ;)

I'm waiting on Star Wars before even thinking about investing in subscription-based MMOs.

As of yet, I'm stuck with f2ps...with the exception of Global Agenda.

I used to play this game religiously when it was first released. Man it's an awesome game but yeah it does suck you in to the black hole that is MMORPG's.  Managed to get myself out of it though, well technically the corp splitting up was the reason as i couldnt find another 'right' one.  Still i did try it again a while later and couldn't get back into it as it just didnt feel the same as it did before and im not sure of the reasons why
Cheers and Good Game

I still play this :P  Played it on and off for a few years now, but been at it active for about 6 months.  Great game, but can be a pain when starting out.  Though since they removed the learnign skills recently, you don't have to make a choice of "Train learning skills now to train faster later, or train skills for new ships/guns etc", which really improves the early game.

Have been with a Mercenary corp for a few months, though we've actually spent it based in wormhole space, so not actually done any mercing >.>

But yea... it sucks up a lot of your spare time.

Okay okay I admit it... I'm getting that itch again....

That very certain itch that is silently waiting and waiting to hear that gate activation sound and prepare to get PEW PEWing the first motherfucker to come through.

God damn I miss playing Eve.

Almost makes me want to start up my old account again....

this is sort of my experience in a nut shell, I LOVED eve, it was a great game and a truely unique MMO, theres nothing like it around. Sadly, it gets you more addicted then WoW could ever do, and sadly subs  and issues caused me to call it a day

that....and the fact that all my major stuff and ships were in a POS our corp own that got looted and I lost 5Billion in ships and parts :(

I've been tempted by EVE again. I only did a few months of mission running and some trading (late 2006), but it started sucking me in.

My girlfriend knows what I'm like with games, and I get a baleful glare if she catches me checking the EVE site "just to see how it's changed"...
