we have 6 servers up - 2 of them are reserved for NE community
To get into the reserved ones, the lobby leader has to choose "Steam group servers" in the lobby options, and must be a member of the NE steam group.  When he clicks "start", the NE servers, if they are empty, should appear in the list

there are now 16 servers up - 6 of them are private
As before, the lobby leader has to put "sv_search_key nervous" into the console before starting the lobby
(to enable the console, go to options > keyboard)

changed the balance to 12 public / 4 private as the privates aren't getting much use (ahem)

i was with some of the HH guys a few days ago, we were 8 ppl and couldn't find a good server, so i looked up if we had one, but we just got 4 campaighn servers, maybe change one to versus aswell? i've also filled our campaighn servers a few times

I don't think the servers are locked to a specific game type.

To use our private servers you should set sv_search_key nervous, then create a vs lobby as you normally would. This should work.

yep, para is correct.  when a server empties it changes map back to campaign 1, map 1.

if you join via the steamgroup pop-up on the l4d2 main menu, it just connects to what map the server is currently on, and it hibernates on map 1 in coop

if you set your sv_search_key and create a lobby, your lobby settings tell the server what map to change to

modified top post: only got 12 servers in total now (4 private) - box was near capacity
and as the public ones are only there to "use up" spare resources... no point in straining things

Few questions

In only see 4-5 servers in the menu, is this correct?

I put the search key into the console but it doesn't choose ne servers, am I missing something?

also is there a way of locking down the server to keep randomers from joining?

also for instance if we wanted to play scavenge, is there a way of playing that on ne servers?


any help would be appreciated as I know very little about this stuff

I play a lot of verses and always looking for a good server, but I cannot seem to get my lobby to join, do they all have to be in the steam group to play on the server?
