TF2 Community Server .... :tumbleweed:
« on: February 13, 2010, 12:43:47 pm »
On behalf of the TFs match squads, I'd like to apologise for us not being on the Community server as much as we'd like.  And thanks to all those who actually do get on there.

We have two squads and both are really busy atm.  The Blu's have aspirations of league promotion and actually playing the game properly.  The Reds are trying to play two in competitions and on a ladder, while not take things too seriuously, but trying to win.  Not sure which is the hardest!

I hope to catch some non-squadies on our Comm server more often.   :D

'Tis too true I'm afraid, haven't been on the comm server for a while now, which is sad......face.

Promotion doesn't come easy though, so if it's Div5 we want, then it's scrims we're gonna have to get.

I've been on it now and again, but I've been really busy past week with all the teachers going mad to get us up to a certain point before half term, but thankfully I got a week off now, so I shall pop in there when I can.

shame, but what can ya do if most of the regs are playing comp games of some form or another & gl to the team that wants promoting. :)

i have come to the recent conclusion that the community is more dead than alive. Its a shame, but i believe we either need to make an effort in recruiting community people to help keep the server populated at peak times, or throw the towel in and admit NE is now more about comp rather than community.

It died a sad death the other night at 9:30pm and the night later henchie was the only guy on at roughly the same time.

Outlook does not look good imo.

Just putting my thoughts and concerns out there.

It's unfortunate but most of us either are playing scrims between 7-10 or are playing other games. This is a multi gaming community and i suppose we have to sacrifice some sides for others sometimes.

Though i don't understand how the red team doesn't populate the comm server more often, plenty of times when we are in a match that there are at least 6-7 people in the TF2 channel not playing scrims ;)

I guess it's just a case of people taking the initiative as me, Rocky and others used to do when we had more free time to do so, we just got busy with a mixture of Real Life and (for me) playing TF2 at a more competitive standard.

(tf2) community (server) is more dead than alive, i'd agree

but in between bad company 2, global agenda, the cod4 resurgence, LOTR:O, and 2 match teams... I don't think you can say the community is dead

however it's mainly through the comm servers that people find their way into the community, and we need to remember that without the public presence we aren't going to attract new blood

Also fry don't forget the sudden interest in CoD:WaW.  That server has seen loads of interest over the last week or so.  It's got people on now as i type this.

We should probably jump on there one night and say hi to the people that play there.

Cause half the time there are people that are AFK or not around.

^ That ^

Also, the Red team has too much on atm for much Comms Server action.  Two tournies and a ladder, when we're a non-competitive side is rather contradictory.

I would agree with the community in LOTR:O. I think we should all get it.
