I just came home from a school trip to vienna, and now that i'm half way sober i think i should post something here:

WIENER SCHNITZEL
(6€ per plate)

additional: KNÖDEL[/b]
(2€ per Knödel)

KINDERTELLER
(4.50€ childrens plate)

Nice looking schnitzel, prices ok too, ELBOWS OFF THE TABLE and out of the food too! :)

Best German place near me is run by a family, pretty good food, almost like being there!

1.00 CAD = 0.755434 EUR  to compare prices

at least half of the food there isn't german, even if you count the austrian meals^^
most of the german stuff is from bavaria though, missing some of the other german specialities, like schwäbische Maultaschen
, for example...

The Leberkäs looks nearly like the one here though, only the beers need some more variation (they have just the beers that are the most selling around the world, and - besides hacker pschorr - not the best ones germany has).

EDIT: That Sauerkraut is a lie! Sauerkraut is usually nearly whitev :-\

Well of course there are other things on the menu, it's a German restaurant in Canada.

And I said that was the best one close to me.
There are better ones less than an hour drive away where there are a lot of Germans in a town called Kitchener which was actually named Berlin until the war.

They also have an Oktoberfest there every year, I've gone to it but not recently as it has gotten a little silly. :P

Hey!
Having a blast in Montreal. :)
Went to a footy match on Sunday, might go to another one tonight.
Got a ticket to the Alouettes(Canadian Football) home opener tomorrow.
So far I've eaten....
Smoked meat sandwich, poutine, oysters(raw), lobster(cooked), sugar bread, almond croissant, crab salad, Portuguese bbq chicken, Montreal hot dog, toasted ham and brie sandwich and numerous salads.

Going to a Portuguese tapas bar for lunch today(Portus Calle) then it's off to a brew pub, but no ordinary brew pub, I'm going to sample as many as I can, I might not make the footy match tonight!

I'll post pictures later after I get back home.

Just back from my holidays.
Sorry Monkeh but I couldn't ship any meat to you.
Was talking to the biggest smoke meat shipper in Montreal and he said he might be able to ship it to the USA one of these days.
Something about mad cows. :P

Anyways, got some vids and pics from my holidays including foodie stuff.
Here is a vid from the place where I had the best chicken ever.
