What we collect from all visitors

As is standard, our webserver logs the IP address and web browser version (including operating system) of every visitor. Additionally, our web demographics system uses javascript to collect further information on the systems of visitors such as screen resolution and what plugins (e.g. flash or java) are installed. No personally identifying information is collected, but you can opt-out of our demographics collection anyway - see the bottom of the page.

What we collect from registered users.

The additional information stored about registered users to the site is limited to that which the users explicitly provide (for example, you must provide an email address in order to register)

How we use cookies

A cookie is a small file which asks permission to be placed on your computer's hard drive. Once you agree, the file is added and the cookie helps analyse web traffic or lets you know when you visit a particular site. Cookies allow web applications to respond to you as an individual. Cookies are used by the system as part of the log-in process. This is essential for identifying logged-in users and, should you wish to log into our site and participate on the forums, are non-optional.

Additionally, our demographics system sets a unique cookie in order to discriminate new users to our site from returning users. However, you can opt out of this system by checking the box below, which will set a non-unique cookie informing our system not to track you.
